Signs and symptoms of mesothelioma cancer may take up to 20 or 50 years to appear after exposure to asbestos. The type of signs and symptoms that a person develops often depends on the type of mesothelioma cancer. There is also general signs and symptoms that occur with all types of  mesothelioma .

Signs and symptoms common to all types of mesothelioma cancer include:

• Unexplained weight loss
• Change in appetite
• Difficulty swallowing food
• Pain in the neck or face
• Abnormalities in blood clotting
• Fever
• Anemia
• Fatigue
• Jaundice
• Low levels of blood sugar

Many of these symptoms and signs of cancer mesoteloma develop in the advanced stages after the cancer has spread to other areas of the body. Mesoteloma cancer typically does not extend to the bone, brain, or adrenal glands.
