Contemporary Arts – a set of artistic practices prevailing in the second half of the twentieth century. Usually, modern art is to understand the art of going back to modernism, or in contradiction with this phenomenon. It is no accident that there are Museums of abstract art and the Museums of Contemporary Art, in the collections which can often be found working the same authors.

Contemporary art in its present form emerged in the late 1960-70. Artistic search of that time could be described as search for alternatives to modernism. This was reflected in the search for new images in european art, new tools and materials of expression, up to the dematerialization of the object.
